Events of Hotel Management
The department of Hotel Management at Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), Amritsar organizes for events at the college campus. The event on “Carving” was a one day workshop.
The Resource Person of the food carving event was Chef Ashish Nikhanj (Sr. Lecturer IHM Bathinda).
The main motive of the workshop was to upgrade the interest of the hospitality students in the food displays. Fruit carving is the art of carving fruit, a very common technique used in Europe and Asian countries. It is particularly popular in Thailand, China and Japan. There are many fruits that can be used in this process; the most popular one that artists use are watermelons, apples, strawberries, pineapples and cantaloupes.
In this workshop Chef Ashish Nikhanj demonstrated various techniques of carving like THAI CARVING, ICE CARVING, TALLOW SCULPTURE, SUGAR ART, etc.
The Hotel Management department of Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), Amritsar arranges for innumerous events at the college campus. The event on “CULINARIA 2016” Workshop on art of plating Indian & western gastronomy was a one day workshop.
The Resource Persons of the CULINARIA 2016 event was Chef Jaswinder Singh (Assistant Professor Panjab University) and Chef Sunil Arya (Sr. Lecturer IHM Chandigarh) form the CHEF ASSOCIATION OF FIVE RIVERS.
The motive of the event was teaching several modern styles of plating Indian & Western gastronomy. The food plating is all about the creativity and it’s the dish to a new level. The art is chart topping these days. The various Indian and Western recipes were demonstrated to the students.
The department of Hotel Management at Amritsar College of Engineering & Technology (ACET), Amritsar arranges for guest lecturers as well at the college campus. The B.Sc students of the department set up a guest lecture on “The Future of Hotel Industry”. It was one day workshop.
The Resource Person of the event was Prof. Tahir Sufi (Principal CCH Landra).
The motive of the event was to make students aware with the modern trends of HOSPITALITY & LATEST TECHNOLOGY used in the hospitality industry. The guest lecturer Prof. Tahir Sufi Principal Chandigarh College of Hospitality executed one to one interaction with the students to clear their doubts and advised them on various ways of doing things. It was a very fruitful event.
